As many of you are aware, over the last couple of weeks, there has been a massive pet food recall in regards to any canned or pouched wet food produced by Menu Foods. Please note that THREE DOG BAKERY ENTRÉE, OVEN BAKED DRY FOOD AND/OR TREATS HAVE NOT BEEN RECALLED and are NOT produced by Menu Foods. Please see below a statement from Tyson Foods, which is the source of where we obtain the chicken to make our Bakery Blend Oven Baked Food and Entree for Dogs. Tyson Customer Statement May 7, 2007 We want to assure you that all of the chicken and pork products we process and market are federally inspected and safe for human consumption. As you know, the FDA and USDA are conducting an investigation into the possible use of certain Chinese ingredients by the U.S. livestock industry. Our company does not buy wheat gluten or rice protein concentrate from China. Additionally, Tyson requires a pure food guarantee from its ingredient suppliers. While this investigation involving multiple companies is ongoing, we can tell you government tests of Tyson poultry feed have not discovered the presence of melamine. Further, all of our poultry plants are operating normally.We will continue to monitor this matter closely and will continue to provide you with the wholesome, quality products you expect from us. |
